CHAP CHWs Complete Mental Health First Aid Training
Last week, our Community Health Workers (CHWs) participated in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training provided by the MHFA Collaborative. This training equips our CHWs with the skills to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, respond appropriately, and connect individuals with the right resources.
Through interactive sessions and real-world scenarios, CHWs learned how to provide initial support for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use challenges, or crisis situations. This training reinforces the critical role CHWs play in the community as trusted guides and first points of contact for individuals in need.
At CHAP, we are committed to providing appropriate, compassionate care to our community. By ensuring our CHWs are trained in mental health first aid, we strengthen our ability to support individuals not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. This initiative is part of our ongoing effort to promote holistic health and wellness throughout the communities we serve.
