Every child deserves the magic of a book. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Richland County makes that possible by delivering free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five. Our goal is simple: foster a love of reading, spark imagination, and give every child a strong start in life.
ABOUT THE LIBRARY
Each month, registered children receive a high-quality, age-appropriate book from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, mailed directly to them at no cost to their family. Behind the scenes, many organizations and individuals work to make this special delivery possible.
The national Imagination Library manages the core program, including the secure central database, book selection, wholesale purchasing, administrative costs, and coordination of monthly mailings.
In Ohio, the statewide Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program supports all 88 counties, helping ensure the program’s growth and sustainability. Thanks to funding from the Ohio General Assembly, a 50% match is provided each month to assist Local Program Partners in covering program costs.
Local Program Partners serve as the main point of contact in their communities. They enroll children, promote the program, raise awareness, and fundraise to cover expenses. This ensures that books remain completely free to every enrolled child.
All Local Program Partners are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that share the mission of fostering a love of reading through the Imagination Library.
